IMF experts will be in Chisinau to develop the progress of the implementation of the country program and macro-economic prospects
An IMF mission led by Clara Mira will be in Chisinau from April 22 to May 2. The members of the delegation will take stock of recent economic developments and the progress in the implementation of the program by the authorities and will update and evaluate the macroeconomic perspectives, informs the IMF representative in Chisinau in a press release.
According to the quoted source, the members of the mission will hold joint discussions with the authorities in the context of the fifth review under the Extended Credit Facility (ECF) and the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) and the first review under the Resilience and Sustainability Mechanism ( RSF).
The 40-month IMF program, approved on December 21, 2021 and extended in May 2022, is supported by a loan of about US$783 million, of which about US$459 million has already been disbursed.
In addition, in December 2023, a new agreement within the RSF of approximately US$170 million was approved.
