Avoid Delays! Early Arrival at Chișinău Airport This Summer
Chișinău International Airport is urging passengers to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before their flight in anticipation of the switch to the busy summer schedule.
This measure aims to minimise queues and delays during peak travel times. To ensure enhanced security protocols are implemented effectively, border control and passenger registration procedures have been revised. These revisions may lead to some unavoidable delays.
Passengers are reminded that recent weeks saw several false bomb threats reported at Chișinău International Airport. Viorel Cernăuțeanu, head of the General Inspectorate of Police, addressed these incidents in a recent interview with Radio Moldova. He suggested that the perpetrators may have adopted a new method to overwhelm state institutions and disrupt national security.
Under Moldovan law, individuals found guilty of making false bomb threats face fines of up to 42,500 lei, community service, or imprisonment for up to two years. In the past week alone, authorities received three separate false bomb threats regarding Chișinău International Airport.
