Statement: The Republic of Moldova registers the highest growth in the development of the IT industry in the Eastern European space
The Republic of Moldova registers the highest growth in the development of the IT industry compared to other countries in the Eastern European space. The statement was made by the director of the Technologies of the Future project funded by USAID, Doina Nistor. She emphasized that only in 2022, our country registered an increase in the IT field of over 30%, much more than the neighboring states.
"In Moldova, the IT industry is developing very quickly, with an extraordinary speed, because in 2022 we had an increase in the IT field of over 30%. This is the largest increase in Eastern Europe, among countries in the region. It's good news, it means we have technological talent here at home", said Doina Nistor.
Doina Nistor also said that the IT field is vital for the development of other branches of the economy, such as agriculture, in order to become more efficient. We remind that about 5 percent of the country's workforce is employed in the IT industry.
