LIVE TEXT Several parties from the Republic of Moldova signed the "Pact for Europe": Ambassador: "The EU has no political color, it has the color of freedom"

Thirteen political parties from the Republic of Moldova signed the "Pact for Europe", an agreement regarding the European Integration of our country. The initiators of this document, the representatives of the "Impreuna" Bloc believe that, in this complicated geopolitical context, a strategic action is needed to unite society around a determined goal. This initiative was joined by pro-European formations, as well as parties, whose leaders previously declared themselves pro-Russian. Neither the Communist Party nor the Socialist Party responded to the invitation. Present at the event, the ambassadors of Ukraine and Romania in the Republic of Moldova welcomed the consolidation of political parties around the idea of European integration of the country.

UPDATE: The official signing part of the Pact for Europe, agreement on the European Integration of the Republic of Moldova closed.

UPDATE: The Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Moldova, Marko Şevchenko, welcomed the signing of this document.

"I congratulate all the political leaders who signed this document today, because they found a common platform, apart from politics, electoral competition, but a platform that unites the parties and who gathered here today with one goal - to take the Republic of Moldova to the club of the prosperous and the rich".

UPDATE: "The European Union has no political color, it has the color of freedom, peace and prosperity", said the Romanian ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, Cristian Leon-Țurcanu, present at the event.

"Today, here in Chisinau, I am the witness of indisputable proof of the fact that the European Union has no political color. I witnessed with satisfaction another very important stage for the European path of the Republic of Moldova, a moment when the political forces who want a prosperous future and who want peace for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova made a not simple commitment - which calls for cooperation and a joint effort, a commitment that claims above all that the interest of the citizen, the European future of the inhabitants of the Republic of Moldova, regardless of ethnicity, religion or the language they speak, should be placed above political interests".

UPDATE: Dinu Plîngău, political party Platform Dignity and Truth:

"It is one of the few moments when the political class in Chisinau unites for something, but not against someone. The example of Romania was a model for us. Of course, in the Republic of Moldova we have small differences, and many politicians, citizens see European integration in a different way (…) We managed to prove that we can work, to prove that it is only a first step, that later we will agree not what we do next, but how we go about achieving this major goal, including through dialogue, consensus-seeking, and other extremely important principles. This event will also help in the negotiation process of the Association Agreement with the EU".

UPDATE: Ștefan Urîtu, Vointa Poporului Party: "This event is long overdue. This represents the will of the people. The people want to unite people who see and know what needs to be done, they can do it. The differences between us, the signatories of this document, are not strategic, the strategy is European integration for all.(...) I will sign this Pact, being convinced that I respect the will of the people".

UPDATE: Ruslan Codreanu, People's Power Party: "I am pleased that several politicians left their personal pride, narrow interests, and took a first step to declare to the whole country and the world that the Republic of Moldova is a European country, and the only way for the country is civilization and the European world. Today is a very important event for the entire society of the Republic of Moldova, to show that we, 13 parties, can sit at a dialogue table, to promise the people that things can be changed".

UPDATE Anatolie Prohnițchi, Ecologist Green Party: "It is not an easy road, but there is no other way. During 30 years, some irresponsible politicians with provincial approaches subjected the population of the Republic of Moldova to stress ranging from the extreme left to the extreme right. Our partners in the Baltic States chose the right path, moving forward year after year and now they are part of the civilized world. (...).The Republic of Moldova has the full support and assistance of the European Greens on our European road. Let's be united and we will win."

UPDATE: Mihai Severovan, PNL: "This Pact is also an exhortation, it is a good consolidation of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova for EU integration. We want to be members with all full rights in the EU family and we want this desire in the shortest possible time. PNL says that the shortest way to join the EU is the reunification of the Republic of Moldova with Romania. From this podium, allow me to urge the political forces, the citizens to work hard on this path as well" UPDATE: Fadei Nagacevschi, Party of Consolidation and Development of Moldova:

"I am honored to present PCDE at an event of national importance, at an event of manifestation of political maturity, at an event to formalize the broad political consensus on a subject, which represents a desire of historical importance, a desire of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova regarding the exit of the Republic of Moldova from the gray area of history and the return to the European space through EU integration". UPDATE: Ion Sula, PSDE president:

"We are living in a truly historic moment. 13 political parties from the Republic of Moldova sign the pact for Europe. This document is the mirror of the Snagov declaration of 1994 when the political forces decided to join forces to achieve the strategic objective of joining the EU. By signing this pact, we reiterate the fundamental values and principles that guide our democracy, rule of law and respect for human rights". UPDATE: Ștefan Gligor, Party of Change:

"It is important to have a vision, a clear direction around which there is cohesion. It is time for the whole society, for every citizen to support an objective that should become strategic and national, the European integration of the Republic of Moldova. Now is the time to put our differences aside when it comes to European integration".

UPDATE: Artur Mija, PAS:

"The signing of this pact is an important event, but it is much more important to act, to promote European accession, to explain to people the accession process and the individual benefits of each citizen. PAS is signing the Pact for Europe today and we express our conviction that this event is only the first of a series of consistent, selfless actions to offer the citizens of the Republic of Moldova a better life, here, at home, in European Moldova". UPDATE Igor Munteanu, CUB president:

"In CUB's opinion this Pact for Europe is primarily a commitment to transformation. The Republic of Moldova and its citizens need a national project for transformation through the rule of law through rules and legislation for every citizen and through as much internal cohesion as possible. The pact is the expression of national unity because no one can monopolize the European idea in the Republic of Moldova".

UPDATE Gaik Vartanean, MAN: "This pact signed by MAN does not mean supporting a party or a candidate, but it is for the national idea of European integration on which we have a lot of work to do, where there are currently several arrears and we are to speed up the processes for the country's accession, but not to the detriment of the citizens and the state of the Republic of Moldova".

UPDATE: The document was signed by Alexandru Bujoreanu, from the League of Cities and Municipalities. "This day will be remembered in years to come as a day of unity, a day when political ambitions and narrow interests were put aside, a day when the national interest and the sincere desire of our fellow citizens to live in a value to freedom, peace, prosperity and European solidarity".

UPDATE: The event started with the singing of the anthems of the Republic of Moldova and the EU.

We remind you that on April 16, the "Together" Bloc formed by the DA Platform, LOC, the Party of Change and the CUB launched an extended invitation for the political parties that support the European path of the Republic of Moldova to sign a Pact similar to the one from Snagov: Pact for Europe . The Snagov Declaration is a document signed on June 21, 1995 by the leaders of the parliamentary parties in Romania, after the "European Agreement" signed between the Romanian state and the member countries of the European Union on February 1 entered into force on February 1, 1995 1993.

"The signatories of this Declaration say that the National Strategy for the preparation of Romania's accession to the European Union elaborated by the Commission specially constituted for this purpose, from representatives of the parliamentary political parties, the Government, academia, civil society expresses Romania's firm orientation to focus its development on promoting the attributes of a democratic society - the rule of law, political pluralism, separation of powers, free elections, respect for human rights, including those belonging to national minorities, the creation of an efficient market economy and sustainable, compatible with the principles, norms, mechanisms, institutions and policies of the European Union", reads the Declaration.
