Putin vows stronger response after drone attack on Kazan
Russian President Vladimir Putin vowed to intensify the destruction in Ukraine in response to a drone attack attributed to Kyiv, which occurred on Saturday in the Russian city of Kazan.
Putin declared that this incident would provoke a more severe response from Moscow, emphasizing that attacks on Russian territory would not go unpunished.
"I am confident that you will restore everything that has been damaged by our enemies and adversaries, starting right now, in Kazan," said Vladimir Putin. "In this regard, I want to say that no matter who or how much they try to destroy our country, they will face a destruction many times greater in return, and they will regret their actions against our country. But we, as I have just pointed out, will move forward."
It is important to note that on Saturday, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) struck buildings in Kazan, nearly 1,000 kilometers from the front lines, bringing the war deep into the heart of Russia. The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the city was struck by three waves of drones.
According to Russian authorities, of the eight drones targeting the city, six hit residential buildings, one struck an industrial facility, and another was downed over a river. Ukraine refrained from commenting on the attack in line with its security policy. Meanwhile, on the same day, the Russian military conducted intense bombardments on several cities in Ukraine.
At least two people were killed, and 20 more were injured in attacks on the cities of Kharkiv, Kherson, and Kryvyi Rih. In Kherson, the Russians specifically targeted the oncology center. Over the course of 40 minutes, approximately one thousand shells fell on the city.
