Moldova Makes History at WHO: Minister Elected Vice-President
Moldovan Health Minister Ala Nemerenco has been elected vice-president of the World Health Assembly's current 77th session.
The Assembly is underway in Geneva, Switzerland, from May 27 to June 1.
This marks a historic first for Moldova, which has never before held the position of Vice-President of the World Health Assembly.
The World Health Assembly (WHO) is the supreme decision-making body of the organisation. It convenes annually in Geneva, bringing together representatives from 194 member states to set WHO's priorities and policies.
