Russian Missile Strike Rocks Kharkiv: Damage, Casualties, and Ongoing Rescue
Last evening, a Russian missile struck a residential block in the Kharkiv region, causing significant damage to multiple floors, as reported by Oleh Sinegubov, the head of the military administration.
Sinegubov stated that at least five individuals lost their lives in the attack, with another 25, including two children, sustaining injuries.
Search and rescue operations at the site of the missile strike are currently underway. Local authorities suggest that there may be an additional five individuals trapped under the debris.
Furthermore, the Russian military conducted another assault on the area while rescuers were already present near the destroyed residence. During the subsequent bombardment, a fire truck and an ambulance were damaged.
As previously documented by UNIAN, explosions resounded once more in Kharkiv on the night of May 31st. The media group "Nakipelo" reported multiple strikes occurring in the same vicinity within the city. A correspondent from "Suspilne" recounted that the rocket strike completely demolished at least three floors at one of the entrances to a five-story residential building.
Vladimir Timoshko, the chief of police in the Kharkiv region, specified that three strikes targeted the Novobavarsky district of Kharkiv: a five-story residential building, a three-story building housing a store, and a sewing workshop. Notably among the injured are a 12-year-old boy and girl, as well as an emergency medical technician.
