Indonesian Woman Found Inside Python After Disappearing
Farida, a mother of four, left her village of Kalempang to sell food in a neighbouring village. When she failed to return, search efforts began. A search party in the forest first discovered some of the woman's belongings.
They then located a python with a distended stomach, according to The Street Journal, as reported by Bild.
Authorities subsequently opened the python's stomach and found Farida's body inside. Suardi Rosa, a local official, confirmed that the python had constricted and swallowed the woman after biting her.
"I will never forgive myself for allowing her to go alone," Noni, Farida's husband, lamented.
Reticulated pythons typically prey on small animals and birds. However, in Indonesia, there have been instances of humans falling victim to these constrictors. In 2023, a Southeast Sulawesi farmer was killed by an eight-metre python. The following year, in the same province, the body of a 54-year-old woman was found inside a seven-metre python. Another incident in 2017 involved a man on a palm oil plantation in West Sulawesi who succumbed to a four-metre python's attack.
