Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi will pay working visits to Warsaw, Bratislava and Vienna

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi will pay three working visits to Warsaw, Republic of Poland, to Bratislava, Republic of Slovakia and to Vienna, Republic of Austria. The visits are planned for June 17-20, states the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from Chisinau.

According to the agenda, on June 17, in Warsaw, Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi will meet with his Polish counterpart, Radoslaw Sikorski.

The two officials will hold a press conference at 10:10 a.m. Warsaw time. Also, Minister Popșoi will have meetings with the director of the state foundation in Poland Solidarity Fund, Marcin Pręgowski, and with the undersecretary of state and head of the international political office of the President's Chancellery, Mieszko Pawlak.

The priority topics of the discussions will include the support offered by Poland in the implementation of key reforms and alignment with European democratic standards and values, the intensification of bilateral and multilateral political dialogue, the deepening of economic cooperation, as well as academic and cultural cooperation.

On June 19, Minister Popșoi will pay a working visit to the Republic of Slovakia, where he will have a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Juraj Blanár. The officials will hold a joint press conference at 13:30 Bratislava time. The head of Moldovan diplomacy will also meet with the Slovak defense minister, Robert Kaliňák, who currently holds the position of interim prime minister.

During the visit, meetings are planned with the Deputy President of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, Peter Žiga, and the President of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy, Marián Kéry.

In Bratislava, the Moldovan official will address a series of topics related to Moldovan-Slovak bilateral relations, regional and multilateral dialogue and the development of commercial-economic cooperation in various fields.

On June 20, Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi will pay a working visit to the Republic of Austria. The agenda of the visit includes a series of meetings with top Austrian officials, including the Federal Minister for European and International Affairs, Alexander Schallenberg, the Federal Minister for the EU and the Constitution, Karoline Edtstadler, and the Vice-President of the Foreign Policy Committee of the Austrian National Council, Susanne Furst. Discussions with Austrian officials will provide a good opportunity for deepening the bilateral and multilateral dialogue, discussing the regional situation and boosting the inter-parliamentary dialogue.

Also, the Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi will participate in the event titled "The European Path of the Republic of Moldova: Opportunities and Challenges" organized by our country's embassy in Austria, the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna and the Austrian Institute for Foreign and Security Policy. Also, Minister Popșoi will meet with the members of the Moldovan community settled in Austria.

The minister's visit also includes participation in the Forum of Foreign Ministers of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region. The meeting will focus on high-level discussions on the interaction between geopolitics and the future prospects of the Danube Region.
