Cristina Gherasimov: It is important for the Republic of Moldova to have voices in the European Parliament that support it
It is very important for the Republic of Moldova to continue to have voices in the European Parliament that support the transformation process of our country. The statement was made by Cristina Gherasimov, the deputy-prime minister for European integration, during a round table, where the expectations following this year's MEPs were analyzed. Our country depends more and more on the political developments in Brussels, says Gerasimov.
"It is very important for us to continue to benefit from those spokespersons within the European Parliament, which we have benefited from until now, who always prioritize those topics on our reform agenda, for our transformation, modernization process as country", said Cristina Gherasimov.
According to the deputy prime minister, it is equally important that the future European parliamentarians continue to support Ukraine in the war started by the Russian Federation.
"We very much hope that the next European Parliament will maintain at the highest level on the EU agenda the necessity of the member states, of the institutions of the European Union, the necessity of continuing to be in solidarity with Ukraine," says Gerasimov.
We remind that the European Parliament elections took place on June 9. Over 56,700 Moldovans with Romanian citizenship voted at the 52 polling stations opened by Romania in our country.
