The Swedish presidency is going to prioritise the continuation of economic and military support for Ukraine
The Swedish presidency will prioritise the maintenance of economic and military support for Ukraine. At the same time, it will pay attention to European competitiveness, reducing the risks of energy price volatility and energy market reform, the green transition and respect for the rule of law, the ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in Stockholm, Liliana Guțan, told Radio Moldova.
According to the official, the quick and decisive response of the European Union to the war in Ukraine is a manifestation of European power if acting together.
"The Swedish presidency will prioritise economic and military support for Ukraine, as well as support for Ukraine's path to the EU. During the meeting with the Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, the message was reconfirmed that when talking about the EU integration of Ukraine, the Swedish presidency sees the package of the three states, Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova and Georgia, the candidate states for joining the EU", Liliana Guțan said.
Radio Moldova recalls that in the first half of 2023, Sweden will lead the Council of the European Union. Spain will take over the EU presidency in the second half of 2023, forming the next triad together with Belgium and Hungary.
