The World Bank could grant the Republic of Moldova a loan worth 40 million dollars
The Republic of Moldova could receive a loan of 40 million dollars from the World Bank to prepare the state to react promptly and efficiently in case of natural disasters or the consequences of climate change.
Accordingly, 29 million dollars are for strengthening the institutions that must respond to emergency situations. Also, $6 million is earmarked for improving hydrometeorological services, and $3 million for critical infrastructure risk reduction and fiscal resilience. The loan is for five years.
The members of the Foreign Policy and European Integration Commission approved the report for the advisory opinion on the initiation of negotiations for the realization of the Disaster Risk Management and Resilience Support Project.
To achieve this, three implementation agreements are to be signed with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development.
After the negotiation and signing, the ratification of the Agreement will be proposed for examination in the plenary session of the Parliament.
