Israel warns of retaliation after drone attack on Tel Aviv
The Israeli Defense Minister has warned that Israel will retaliate against a long-range drone attack launched from Yemen that hit a building in central Tel Aviv last night, killing one person and injuring eight others, informs DPA.
The Israel Defense Forces said that according to their information, the projectile came from Yemen.
Yemen's Houthi rebels previously claimed the attack on an "important target" in Tel Aviv. The rebel spokesman said the operation was carried out with a new drone, called the Yafa, capable of evading Israeli interception systems and radars.
In a TV statement, he said his militia had a "bank of targets" in Israel and that Tel Aviv was in its sights.
