The price of plane tickets from Chisinau to Paris has doubled
The price of plane tickets to European capitals have increased by 15% since the beginning of the year until now, representatives of some online ticket sales platforms told Teleradio-Moldova. They have become more expensive to Paris, where the Summer Olympics are held, and the flow of passengers is higher.
People who bought plane tickets in January for March paid lower prices, and those who bought plane tickets in the last few weeks, paid by 100 euros more, say the managers of the largest online ticket sales platform. They also state that the prices of plane tickets increased in July by 15% compared to the beginning of the year and explain this by the fact that during the summer period people go on vacation.
"In the summer, the price of plane tickets increases by 15%. Many go on vacation abroad. The Olympic Games are currently taking place in Paris, and the flow of passengers in France is much higher in July compared to January. If in winter a ticket to Paris cost 100 euros, currently it costs 200. If in January a ticket to London was 100 euros, now it is 120 or 150 euros. The most expensive tickets are for Paris, Dublin and London".
"In the months of July and August, the prices for plane tickets are higher. The tickets to Paris are more expensive, we are talking about doubling the price. Every summer the price for plane tickets increases because we are in the summer season."
Traveling by plane becomes more expensive in Romania. According to the media from Bucharest, the airlines reason that they have to pay an environmental tax. Thus, tickets to certain destinations will cost by 75 euros more.
