Moldovan peacekeepers started their activity in Kosovo within the KFOR mission

The 21st detachment of the National Army consists of 41 professionals and includes a platoon of 33 soldiers, seven engineers and a staff officer. Moldovan peacekeepers from the 21st contingent of the National Army began their mandate of activity at the KFOR peacekeeping operation in Kosovo.

Recently, at the Multinational Base "Camp Vilaggio Italia" in Pech, the transfer of authority ceremony was held, where the newly arrived soldiers took over the duties from the peacekeepers of the previous contingent of the National Army.

In the presence of Colonel Francesco Ferrara, the superior of the West Regional Command (Regional Command-West), as well as the peacekeepers from Italy, Austria, Albania and North Macedonia, Major Petru Tutunaru, the commander of the KFOR-20 contingent, handed over the flag and the responsibilities of the position to Major Ion Vlas, who will lead the contingent for the next six months.
