Maia Sandu: The Republic of Moldova is ready to evacuate its citizens from the Middle East

The authorities in Chisinau are monitoring the situation in the Middle East, and if it is necessary to evacuate the citizens from the region, the state will make every effort to bring the citizens home safely, President Maia Sandu told Jurnal TV.

"When we have information about the increase in the level of risks for our citizens in Israel, we will certainly notify the people there. I don't think there is that much danger. When such a danger is signalled, we communicate and accordingly take all measures. I want to remind you that our teams worked very hard to bring home our fellow citizens from the Gaza Strip and it was quite complicated, but the Republic of Moldova was among the first countries that managed to get their people out of there," said the president Maia Sandu.
We remind you that, on Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Chisinau issued a travel alert to Lebanon and the Middle East region, urging the citizens of the Republic of Moldova to avoid travelling to these areas, due to the high risk of terrorist attacks.

The institution also recommends Moldovans who are already in these localities to leave them "immediately", and those who are in or transiting Lebanon and the Middle East to always have their original travel documents with them.
