Massive marijuana bust in Cahul: Two arrested

Six kilograms of marijuana worth over 1.2 million lei (€230,000) have been seized by the police officers in the wake of raids at Cahul, Moldova.

According to the Moldovan General Inspectorate of Police, suspects in this case are two men with ages of 35 and 41 years. The suspects were specialised in the cultivation of the cannabis plants with a high concentration of the principal psychoactive substance which induces the sensation of “euphoria” (named THC).

These were buying the seeds of cannabis from over the borders of the country, and after being cultivated, the buds of cannabis of superior quality were sold to the dealers from Chișinău and from Romania, and the remaining cannabis – in the municipality of Cahul.

In addition, cannabis at the residence of the 41-year-old suspect was found paraphernalia for the portioning and the selling of the drugs, as well as a hunting weapon and illegal ammunition.

The suspects have been arrested for 30 days.
