Government names Alexandru Iacub as new Customs Service chief
The Moldovan government has approved, today, August 28, the appointment of Alexandru Iacub as the new head of the Customs Service.
Iacub has been suspended from his role as Secretary General of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
“I believe this is an excellent choice for this important position,” stated Dorin Recean.
Alexandru Iacub's appointment follows the resignation of Igor Talmazan, the former head of the Customs Service. Talmazan explained that his resignation was prompted by the ongoing corruption case at Chișinău International Airport, in which seven customs inspectors are under investigation for bribery.
