The EU has offered us peace, democracy, prosperity since the end of the Second War, but the history divided it, and your country became part of the Soviet Union and now we must, and together we want to take the next step of this process of creating the European family that believes in the same principles and Moldova is part of this European family. We, as founding members of the EU, will support this path and we are proud that the discussions between the EU and the Republic of Moldova started in Luxembourg.

Negotiations have started in Luxembourg and we are proud of that. Now when you join this club you have to adapt your laws to EU laws, others have done it, you will too. I'm confident you'll do it in no time."
