Lakes in the country will be checked. The request comes from Prime Minister Dorin Recean. At the beginning of the Government meeting, the official asked the competent institutions to make an inventory of the reservoirs and protection dykes in the country, following the floods caused by the heavy rains from September 14-16.
"In general, we need to check them because a lot of these floods happened precisely because a good part of these reservoirs are exploited improperly, and that's why we also have some flooding incidents," said the prime minister.
We remind you that the heavy rains from September 14-16 wreaked havoc throughout the country. According to the latest report of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), during 72 hours, the authorities intervened in 402 missions to liquidate the consequences of heavy rains. Of these, 214 interventions targeted the pumping of water from people's households, most of which were recorded in the center and south of the country. In addition to these actions, works were carried out to fortify the dams and protective dykes on the Nistru and Prut rivers, to prevent possible future incidents.
