18 Moldovans, evacuated from Lebanon, arrived in Chisinau

Another 18 citizens of the Republic of Moldova evacuated from Lebanon arrived on Wednesday evening at Chisinau International Airport, from Belgrade via Vienna. The people were welcomed by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Mihai Mîțu, and the representatives of the IOM Mission in Moldova, the MFA reports.

The evacuation was made possible thanks to the complex efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other institutional partners - members of the MFA Crisis Cell, of our diplomatic missions in Turkey, accredited to the Lebanese Republic, as well as the one in Bucharest, accredited in Serbia, thanks to the support of Serbian authorities and IOM.

We remind you that the 18 citizens of the Republic of Moldova were evacuated from the Republic of Lebanon on October 8 and arrived safely at the airport in Belgrade, Serbia.

Also, the MFA informed that it is preparing the evacuation from Lebanon of another 10 citizens, who requested the assistance of the authorities.

On October 2, eleven citizens of the Republic of Moldova, including women and children, were evacuated from Lebanon.
