Kozorez wins gold at European U23 Boxing Championships
Daria Kozorez of Moldova delivered a superb performance at the European Under-23 Boxing Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria, winning the gold medal in the over-81 kg weight category.
Kozorez defeated Hungary's Reka Hoffmann in the semifinals and triumphed over Turkey's Seyma Duztas in the final.
Another Moldovan boxer, Vladislav Gudzi, secured a bronze medal in the up-to-67 kg weight category at the same championships.
Earlier this year, in April, Kozorez made history at the European Senior Championships by becoming the first female athlete from the Republic of Moldova to win gold at the continental tournament.
