Constitutional Court to validate referendum results on Oct 31
The Constitutional Court will review the results of the national constitutional referendum held on October 20, 2024, on Thursday, October 31. The session is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM. Following the issuance of the ruling, High Court President Domnica Manole will hold a press briefing.
It should be noted that on October 25, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) confirmed the validity of the national constitutional referendum conducted on October 20 and approved the report on the consolidated voting results. The following day, the electoral authority submitted the necessary documents and materials to the Constitutional Court to confirm the referendum results.
According to data provided by the CEC, 1,532,264 voters received ballots for the national constitutional referendum, and 1,531,392 voters participated in the vote. Out of a total of 1,488,874 valid votes cast, 749,719 people voted "YES," while 739,155 voted "NO."
