Moldovan candidates urge supporters to vote on November 3

Following the first round of the presidential elections in the Republic of Moldova, which concluded on October 20, candidates who did not advance to the second round have urged their supporters to vote on Sunday, November 3.

While some candidates adopted a neutral stance, others indicated to voters whom to support or oppose.

The candidates who did not advance expressed their gratitude to the voters and presented their preferred options for the second round.

Tudor Ulianovschi and Renato Usatîi took a neutral position, encouraging voters to participate without endorsing a specific candidate. Ulianovschi highlighted the need for genuine pro-European leaders, while Usatîi emphasised that the decision ultimately lies with the voters, stating that citizens should exercise their right to vote based on their own beliefs.

In a similar vein, Irina Vlah, Ion Chicu, and Vasile Tarlev urged voters to vote "against" Maia Sandu, without declaring their support for Alexandr Stoianoglo.

Andrei Năstase called on citizens to go out and vote on November 3, without specifying his support for any particular candidate. He encouraged voters to consider the future of their children rather than the interests of politicians.

Octavian Țîcu openly supported Maia Sandu's pro-European direction, arguing that she represents the only alternative for maintaining the course of European integration. Țîcu also warned of the risks associated with a return to a "Russian world," which he associates with Stoianoglo and the political forces backing him.

Victoria Furtună expressed her opposition to Maia Sandu and urged her supporters to vote for Alexandr Stoianoglo. Similarly, Natalia Morari encouraged her supporters to vote against Maia Sandu, without directly mentioning her support for Stoianoglo.
