Over 50% of voters cast their votes by 6:00 p.m. The most active voters are the elderly

The voter turnout rate surpassed 50% by 6:00 p.m. By this time, about 1,543,530 citizens voted, representing more than 50% of those registered on the electoral rolls. Additionally, over 264,000 voters abroad cast their votes. For comparison, during the first round of the presidential elections, the turnout at the same hour was slightly above 45%.

The participation rate is nearly five percentage points higher than the turnout in the first round of voting on October 20, and about one percentage higher than in the second round of the presidential elections in 2020. Notably, the voter turnout among residents of the Transnistrian region is the highest in the past four years, with more than 23,000 voters, significantly exceeding the turnout in the first round.

According to the Central Electoral Commission, the most active voters continue to be the elderly. Over 75% of people aged 66 to 75 and nearly 70% of people aged 56 to 65 voted. In contrast, less than 45% of voters under 45 voted.

Chisinau municipality has the highest voter turnout rate. By 6:00 p.m., over half of the eligible voters in Chisinau, about 340,000 people cast their votes.

Chisinau is followed by the districts of Dondușeni, Taraclia, Ocnița, Bălți municipality, and UTA Găgăuzia reported significant voter turnout. Conversely, the Cantemir district registered the lowest voter turnout of 37% of voters.
