Ukraine's energy system cannot be fully restored this winter due to constant attacks
Ukraine's energy system is impossible to fully restore this winter, despite the support of Western partners, claims the head of the Ukrainian Parliamentary Commission for Energy, Housing and Utilities, Andri Herus, RBC reports.

He said that the equipment from the warehouses of the European partners is already on its way to Ukraine and is being transferred quickly, but the Ukrainian energy system is constantly under Russian attacks, and Europe does not have the sufficient amount of equipment that Ukraine needs, so it will take at least six months to manufacture them. Andri Herus added that, at the moment, Ukraine is repairing the installations on its own and is making up for the electricity shortage through regular blackouts. Meanwhile, the recently liberated Ukrainian city of Kherson has been left without electricity after intense shelling by Russian forces, regional governor Yaroslav Yanushevych said today, quoted by Reuters. He also said that energy specialists are working to solve the problem. Residents of Kherson, after living under Russian occupation for nearly nine months, now face the danger of regular shelling in parts of the city by Russian troops who have retreated just across the Dnieper River. The head of the Regional Military Administration, Oleh Sinehubov, says that Russia has increased the intensity of bombing in the Kharkiv region. According to him, in the last day, the Russian military constantly used artillery against the settlements in the border communities of the Kupiansk district. The bombings caused fires in several houses, outbuildings and warehouses.
