Russian ambassador will be summoned to the MFA: Note of protest to the Kremlin due to the fall of drones on the territory of the country

Chisinau is preparing a note of protest that will be sent to the Russian Federation, through the Russian ambassador accredited to our country, in the case of the two drones found in Căușeni and Rîșcani districts. After Moldovan diplomacy announced yesterday that the two drones were launched from Russian territory, today Kremlin representatives deny this fact and say that the Russian army does not use such aircraft. Also, President Maia Sandu claims that these drones are not a cause for concern, but the fact that they fly over the airspace of our country.

During a briefing, the Parliament Speaker, Igor Grosu, let it be understood that the ambassador of the Russian Federation in Chisinau, Oleg Ozerov, could be summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be presented with the note of protest following what happened.

"The security forces are very carefully investigating these aircraft, we are talking about drones and their danger. Throughout the war machine are drones that have dangerous components, they are only meant to evade attention and create false targets. After we have the conclusions, obviously we will also have a dialogue with the representative of the state that launches and through such actions also threatens the security of the Republic of Moldova in this way", said the Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu.

Shortly afterwards came the reaction of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The institution's spokesperson, Maria Zaharova, denied that the two devices belonged to the Russian army and said that anti-Russian statements have become a norm in Chisinau.

Meanwhile, the local Căușeni television station managed to talk to the man in whose garden one of the two drones fell on Sunday. Simion Cravcenco states that he was woken up on Sunday morning by the persistent barking of the dog. When he reached the garden, he noticed the aircraft in a pile of rubbish. He called the neighbors, who examined it closely, after which they notified the local authorities.

We remind you that, since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, several fragments of drones or missiles have been detected on the territory of our country. The first Russian missile fell in the Republic of Moldova on October 31, 2022, in Naslavcea, Ocnița.
