120 schools in the country will receive funding from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development
A total of 120 schools in the country will receive funding from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Each school will receive $36,000 to enhance their facilities, which will be used to equip high-performance laboratories, upgrade IT systems or software, and provide teacher training. Educational institutions can access this funding through the "Improving the Quality of Education" Project, said Nadejda Velișco, the Secretary of State from the Ministry of Education, during a recent plenary session in Parliament.
" The implementation process highlighted a lack of necessary institutional capacity, knowledge, skills, and experience among the schools to efficiently and transparently manage the procurement processes for the goods and services funded by the school grants. To facilitate the efficient and transparent management of these procurement processes, it was agreed to amend the loan agreement so that the responsibility for procurement procedures related to school sub-projects will be transferred to the implementation team of the project at the Ministry of Education and Research", said Nadejda Velisco.
We remind you that the "Improving the Quality of Education" Project provides the Republic of Moldova with a loan of $49.6 million and additional grants totaling $9.8 million.
