Moldova records first flu case; health experts recommend vaccination
The first case of flu this season has been recorded in the Republic of Moldova.
The disease was confirmed in a 33-year-old woman from the Criuleni district, who had not been vaccinated against the flu. The National Agency for Public Health (ANSP) states that she had not received the flu vaccine.
Public health experts recommend simultaneous vaccination against both seasonal flu and COVID-19 to provide effective protection against both diseases.
According to ANSP, over 97% of the total flu vaccine doses received have already been administered. Experts maintain that the protection offered by the vaccine generally develops within 2-3 weeks and provides immunity for a period of 6 to 12 months.
