ANRE will approve new gas tariffs

The National Energy Regulatory Agency is meeting on Friday, November 29, to examine and approve a new natural gas tariff. Under the draft decision, consumers could pay over three lei more for a cubic meter.

Thus, after JSC "Moldovagaz" requested the establishment of a tariff of 17.46 lei for a cubic meter of gas, including VAT, ANRE proposes a tariff of 16.74 lei.

We remind you that JSC "Moldovagaz" requested the National Energy Regulatory Agency to approve the tariff increase starting December 1. Currently, it is 13 lei and 12 bani. Moldovagaz motivates the request for tariff adjustment by increasing the purchase price by seven percent. More precisely, it is an average price of over 520 dollars for a thousand cubic meters.

The request came a day after Energy Minister Victor Parlicov met with Gazprom President Alexei Miller in St. Petersburg, where they discussed natural gas supplies to the Republic of Moldova under the existing contract after January 1, especially if transit through Ukraine is interrupted.

Recently, Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced, during a government meeting, that citizens will not pay higher tariffs for natural gas and electricity this season.
