Tragic accident in Romania: two women and a man from the Republic of Moldova died
Three people, two women and a man, died in a serious road accident on DN 26, in Foltești, Galați County, Romania. The tragedy occurred following a head-on collision between a car and a TIR, both vehicles being registered in the Republic of Moldova, informs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from Chisinau.
According to the publication Libertatea, the accident occurred at the exit from Foltești, when a TIR travelling from Foltești to Oancea collided violently with a car coming from the opposite direction.
The impact was devastating. A passenger in the car was thrown onto the roadway, who died on the spot. Two other people remained trapped in the car. Witnesses alerted the emergency services at 112, and traffic police, ISU Galați firefighters and a SMURD helicopter intervened at the scene.
Unfortunately, resuscitation efforts for the two people found trapped were unsuccessful.
Police started a criminal case and continue their investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
