Government launches the "Save Energy - Pay Less" Campaign. Recommendations for citizens
The Government of the Republic of Moldova has launched the "Save Energy - Pay Less" campaign, aimed at encouraging citizens to reduce energy consumption and save money during the cold season. This was announced by the spokesperson of the Executive, Daniel Vodă, in a message published on social networks.
"Dear citizens, we will get through this winter well, because the Government will continue to help the vulnerable, but also because our society is responsible. Each of us wants to spend as little as possible on bills. And we can do this through small changes in our homes," said Vodă.
In this context, the authorities recommend that citizens follow a "series of small but high-impact actions" that will help us reduce energy consumption. These include:
turn off the lights in rooms where no one is;
install LED bulbs, they consume 75% less energy;
use a thermostat set between 18 and 20 degrees;
optimize the use of household appliances and disconnecting devices that are not in use
"Let's join this national effort, save energy and pay less," urged Voda.
We remind you that the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova has established a state of emergency in the energy sector for 60 days. While Chisinau announced that the right bank of the Nistru has sufficient natural gas reserves for the winter, the situation in the Transnistrian region remains uncertain. Moldovan officials stressed that they will seek solutions to support citizens on the left bank of the Nistru, if Gazprom decides to stop deliveries.
