Israel to open embassy in Moldova by 2025
The Embassy of Israel is set to open in the Republic of Moldova.
This decision was announced in a statement by the Israeli government, which highlighted that "relations between Israel and Moldova are friendly, and both nations aim to strengthen and deepen these ties."
According to the statement, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar informed his Moldovan counterpart, Mihail Popsoi, of his decision to establish an Israeli embassy in Chișinău, planned to open as early as 2025.
Israeli authorities have requested that the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs identify a suitable location for the embassy and begin the process of appointing an Israeli ambassador.
Moldova also has an embassy in Israel, located in Tel Aviv.
It is worth noting that Israel has decided to open an embassy in Chișinău while closing its embassy in Dublin, citing "the Irish government’s extreme anti-Israel policies," as stated by Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar on Sunday.
