Moldova opens new consulate in California

A Moldovan Consulate General will open in Sacramento, California. During a recent visit to the U.S., Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi received approval from U.S. State Department officials to establish this new diplomatic mission.

The Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAIE) announced that the Sacramento consulate, the second in the U.S., will primarily serve Moldovans residing in the western part of the country. This initiative demonstrates Moldova's commitment to supporting its diaspora by providing easier access to consular services.

The MFAIE stated that the new Sacramento consulate will complement the one in Chicago, expanding consular services to Moldovans across the U.S. The consulate will offer a range of services, including document issuance, authentication, emergency assistance, and other essential consular services. Additionally, the consulate will foster stronger cultural and economic ties between Moldovans in the U.S. and Moldova.
