Russia bombs Kherson: Ukraine uses cluster munitions in counterattack
Three people were killed in an attack near Kherson, in Russian-occupied southern Ukraine, AFP reports.

The Ukrainian army used cluster munitions and remote mine-clearing systems in an attack targeting Oleshky, a town near the Dnipro River, which marks the front line between Ukrainian and Russian forces.
Kyiv and Moscow have been accusing each other of using cluster munitions since the war began nearly three years ago. Residents of the town are advised to remain at home or in shelters.
Kyiv also reports that four people were injured today in Russian attacks in the Kherson region.
Since the start of its invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Russia has occupied part of the Kherson region. Attacks occur frequently on both sides of the front, but the fighting is concentrated in the east, particularly in the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.
Russia regularly bombs the city of Kherson, the capital of the region of the same name, from which Russian forces withdrew in November 2022 in the face of a Ukrainian offensive.
