Tiraspol's alleged leader thanks Chisinau for gas: "Without this support, it would probably have been very difficult for us"

Three days after European gas arrived in the Transnistrian region, the so-called Tiraspol leader, Vadim Krasnoselski, thanked Chisinau for help. In a video address on his Telegram page, he stated that "if these things" had been decided earlier, it would have been easier for everyone.

"Regardless of all aspects, we can only thank them for this, because without this support, it would probably have been very difficult for us in this regard. If we had not planned this strategy with this gas at our disposal, I tell you, we would probably have had different consequences, including in terms of restoring gas supply to buildings, which would have required 2-3 months to provide gas to residents. Therefore, this pressure that was maintained in the pipeline was possible thanks to the Moldovan colleagues, who understood the situation and did not allow the pipeline to be completely emptied. I want thank all those who participated in the decision-making of the Moldovan leadership, and if this had happened earlier, it would have been easier for everyone,” said Krasnoselski.

We remind you that the energy crisis in the Transnistrian region began on January 1, when Gazprom completely stopped natural gas supplies to the Republic of Moldova, affecting especially the left bank of the Nistru. Almost a month after the energy crisis began, last week Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced at a press conference that the European Union would provide the Republic of Moldova with 64 million euros, and the money would be used to support both the right bank of the Nistru and the Transnistrian region. Thus, the EU and Chisinau managed, through a joint effort, to bring European gas to the Transnistrian region. By the decision of the CSE, Chisinau redirected 20 million euros for the purchase of gas on the left bank of the Nistru and 10 million for the purchase of electricity on the right bank, all purchased through the Moldovan company SA Energocom.

Starting with February 1, SA Energocom began deliveries of natural gas to the national grid, based on the requests of Tiraspoltransgaz and the order of the Commission for Emergencies. According to the data, the quantities delivered were: 450,000 cubic meters on February 1, 2.7 million cubic meters on February 2 and 2.575 million cubic meters on February 3.
