Maia Sandu, message of condolences following the tragedy in North Macedonia: "Our thoughts are with you"

The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, sent a message of support to the people of North Macedonia, expressing condolences to the families affected by the devastating fire that occurred in a nightclub in Kočani.
“I am deeply saddened by the tragedy in Kočani, which took lives and injured many others. My sincere condolences to the families of the victims and the people of North Macedonia. Our thoughts are with you in these difficult times,” Maia Sandu wrote on X.

North Macedonia's Prime Minister, Hristijan Mickoski, announced on Sunday that the government is "fully mobilized and will fight the consequences and determine the causes of the tragedy" at a nightclub, News.ro reports.
He said it was a "difficult and very sad day" for the country, which has lost "so many" young lives.
Interior Minister Pance Toskovski said several arrests had been made.

At least 50 people killed in North Macedonia nightclub fire
At least 50 people died in a fire that broke out on Saturday night in a nightclub in northern Macedonia, news.ro reports, citing the Ministry of Interior.
“At least 50 people have died in a nightclub in Kocani, in the east of the country, about 100 km east of the capital Skopje, where “about 1,500 people were attending a concert,” the MIA agency said.
According to the agency, the fire broke out in the “Pulse” nightclub in the city of about 30,000 inhabitants, during a concert by DNK, a very popular hip-hop group in the country. The audience at the concert, which started at midnight, was mainly made up of young people, according to the same source. According to the SDK news website, the fire broke out at around 3:00 in the morning.
The SDK also said that “over 100 young people were injured,” citing the Department of Protection and Rescue and the Crisis Management Center.
The injured were taken to hospitals in Kocani and Stip, about thirty kilometers south of Kocani.
The fire was likely caused by the use of pyrotechnic devices, according to media reports.
