MFA rejects Russia's accusations: the intervention at the Embassy was carried out in line with the law and international commitments

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova rejects the accusations of the Russian Federation that Tuesday evening's intervention at the Russian Embassy in Chisinau violated the 1961 Vienna Convention. According to a statement, the action of the Moldovan authorities was carried out in line with the law and international commitments, aimed at protecting public safety.

According to the source, the intervention was determined by an alert regarding a possible threat to the embassy, and the measures taken were aimed at ensuring the security of diplomatic staff, citizens in the area and maintaining public order.

The ministry informs that access around the embassy was temporarily restricted, respecting standard procedures and the activity of the diplomatic mission was not disrupted. Also, the Republic of Moldova reaffirms its respect for international law and rejects any attempt to distort reality.

We remind you that on Wednesday, a firm protest note was submitted to the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Moscow, Lilian Darii, in connection with the incident that occurred at the Russian Embassy in Chisinau.

A bomb alert was triggered at the Russian Embassy in Chisinau. Later, after the on-site verification procedure, the police determined that the bomb threat was fake.
