Irina Lozovan accused of accepting $30,000 bribe from Ilan Șor

Moldovan deputy Irina Lozovan, accused of receiving $30,000 from the fugitive oligarch Ilan Șor to bribe the mayor of Ocnița, is reportedly unaccounted for, according to media sources.
In an official statement, the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office confirmed that the parliamentarian affiliated with Șor is banned from leaving the country and assured the public that she has not officially left the Republic of Moldova through any border crossing points.
The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office clarified that Deputy Irina Lozovan is prohibited from leaving the Republic of Moldova for 60 days, beginning March 3, 2025.
This measure was deemed necessary due to the fact that during the hearings on February 25 and March 3, 2025, the defendant failed to attend, citing health reasons but without providing any proof. The decision regarding the preventive measure was forwarded to the Border Police for enforcement. In light of public speculation that the defendant may have left the Republic of Moldova, the Prosecutor's Office reassures that she could not have left the country through official border crossing points.
When contacted by Teleradio-Moldova, her lawyer, Anatolie Pitel, stated that he does not know where the deputy is and dismissed the speculation.
Has anyone been searching for her to say that she is missing? Is she being actively searched for? No, she is not. On the 31st, you will find out whether it is her or not. She will have to appear at the hearing. Even if I know, I have no obligation to disclose that information to you.
