Minnesota plane crash: All aboard killed, house residents survive

A small aircraft flying from Iowa to Minnesota crashed into a house in Brooklyn Park, a suburb of Minneapolis, on Saturday, March 29.
All passengers on board died, but the residents of the house escaped unharmed, despite the fire destroying their home, according to the BBC.
The aircraft had departed from Des Moines International Airport in Iowa and was en route to Anoka County-Blaine Airport in Minnesota. The crash occurred at approximately 12:20 p.m. local time, about 8 miles from its destination.
Authorities have yet to confirm the exact number of passengers on board. The FAA and NTSB have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash. Investigators are set to arrive at the scene on Sunday to document the crash site and inspect the wreckage.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz said his team is "in contact with local officials in Brooklyn Park and is closely monitoring the situation."
"I am grateful to the first responders for their swift action," he added.
This incident occurs in the context of a recent series of plane crashes and near misses that have raised public concern, particularly following reports that former President Donald Trump supported budget cuts for federal agencies.
According to the Associated Press, hundreds of aviation safety employees have been laid off.
