Starting April 1, 2025, Moldovan producers can export to Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein without customs duties or with significantly reduced duties. This is possible with the entry into force of the Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the member states of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). The agreement implementation will enable the diversification of export markets, the consolidation of the economy and its integration into the European space.

In recent years, based on this document, the markets of Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein have been the destination for 31% of Moldovan exports of heater parts and 30 percent of exports of numerical control panels. Also, the EFTA agreement opens up new e-commerce opportunities.

We remind you that the Agreement with the EFTA member states was signed by our country on June 27, 2023. From September 1, 2024, the Free Trade Agreement with Iceland entered into force, and from November 1 - with Norway and starting today- with Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

EFTA was established in 1960 and is an international organization and a free trade area that includes Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.
