Military demonstration held in Tiraspol despite Chisinau’s warnings. Analyst: “A provocative action”

The Tiraspol regime and the Russian Task Force (RTF) staged a historical reenactment, despite warnings from the Chisinau authorities to avoid provocations. Events commemorating the so-called reconstruction of the Iasi-Chisinau operation from World War II took place in Tiraspol. The self-proclaimed leader of Tiraspol, Vadim Krasnoselski, shared images on his Telegram page showcasing military equipment, children dressed in uniforms, and exhibitions of weapons. Political analyst Nicolae Negru, speaking with Teleradio-Moldova, described this as a clearly provocative action.

Political analyst Nicolae Negru shares his perspective on current events, stating, "This provocative action is primarily aimed at the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, intending to instill a sense of instability and danger among them. It portrays Russia as a looming presence on the Nistru, with no intention of retreating. In my opinion, this is an electoral maneuver. There is a lot to discuss, especially considering that the separatist administration is facing significant economic and financial challenges, including budget issues. The organization of these displays is militaristic, and the aim to create a state of psychosis among citizens was undoubtedly orchestrated at Moscow's behest. This situation should be viewed primarily through an electoral lens.We may encounter actions that catch us off guard, as well as others that could destabilize the relationship between Chișinău and Tiraspol. Expect some unpleasant surprises, and it's crucial for the authorities to prepare accordingly."

Recently, Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatîi stated that the military exercises conducted in Tiraspol, intended to recreate a historical event, pose a “challenge.” Nosatîi emphasized that these activities by the peacekeeping forces are being conducted “without coordination and approval” in the Security Zone. He also pointed out the economic crisis affecting the Transnistrian region, suggesting that the Tiraspol authorities should allocate their resources for the benefit of their citizens.
These exercises, which took place along the banks of the Nistru near Tiraspol, involved military equipment, artillery, ammunition, and pyrotechnic materials.
Officials and experts from Chisinau previously asserted that the true aim of these military exercises is to divert attention from the severe economic crisis that Transnistrian region is currently experiencing.
Additionally, the Republic of Moldova's Delegation to the Joint Control Commission called for the "immediate cessation" of all military actions in the Security Zone, labeling them as "provocations that threaten stability and security in the region."
