A group of Montenegrin boxers was not allowed to enter the Republic of Moldova
A group of boxers from Montenegro who intended to participate in an international tournament in the Republic of Moldova were not allowed to enter the country after they landed at Chisinau International Airport on Tuesday evening.
The representatives of the Border Police say that the young athletes did not meet the conditions for authorization to cross the state border and were forced to turn back. The incident comes a day after 12 Serbian fans were denied entry into the country to watch tomorrow's match between Sheriff Tiraspol and Partizan Belgrade due to security concerns. For his part, the Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu declared that the Chisinau authorities asked the representatives of the Moldovan Football Federation to postpone this match for another time. "We asked them to leave the pleasure of enjoying a football match for another time, to understand the situation we are in. There is nothing special about these supporters. This match coincided. We also explained to the Football Federation and the International Federation that they are going to play. This will be wise on their part and on our part", said Igor Grosu. We remind you that from February 24, 2022, with the establishment of the state of emergency related to the war in the immediate vicinity of the state border of the Republic of Moldova, upon entering the country all foreign citizens pass a special control, to exclude security risks.
