Eurovision 2026: Teleradio-Moldova announces the list of 37 artists qualified for the live auditions

The Teleradio-Moldova company received 37 submissions from artists interested in representing the Republic of Moldova at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. The deadline for submissions to the National Selection was December 7. Following this, the music producers reviewed the materials and accepted all contestants for the live auditions stage.
A total of 37 artists, consisting of both established names and debut talents, have successfully passed the live audition stage.
The auditions are scheduled for December 16, starting at 11:00 AM, in Studio 2 of Public Television. During this event, the artists will perform their songs live for the national selection producers.
Based on these performances, the finalists who will compete for the opportunity to represent the Republic of Moldova at Eurovision 2026 will be selected.
Roman Burlaca, the music producer for the National Selection, shared, "The auditions will be a crucial stage for me, especially considering that many of the songs in this contest sound excellent and possess real potential. I want to communicate directly with the participants to understand their visions, ideas, and true capabilities. I promise that the selection process will not be 'dry' or distant. Even for those who do not advance to the final, I want this experience to be beneficial, helping them understand why they did not progress, what could be improved, and how they can better prepare for future editions. I want each participant to leave with increased confidence and a clear direction for growth."
This year’s pre-selection has generated significant interest from artists of various generations, with a mix of well-known performers and entirely new faces among the competitors, according to Serghei Orlov, another music producer for the National Selection.
He stated, "Eurovision continues to be an excellent platform for young talents to showcase themselves at the national level. In the first stage, we aimed to accept nearly all applicants for the live auditions, giving each participant a chance to shine. While evaluating the songs is somewhat subjective, we will be guided by trends from previous years, as well as criteria such as the song's originality, vocal quality, stage presence, charisma, and message. The live performance stage will reveal the true potential of the songs and artists. I wish all participants the brightest possible outcomes."
Andrei Zapşa, the Deputy General Director of Teleradio-Moldova Company, responsible for television, highlighted the keen interest from artists in this competition.
He affirmed, "This indicates that the artistic community has recognized the efforts made by public television this year to enhance the format. I firmly believe that we have something to present to Europe."
The songs selected for the live auditions will be uploaded to the official website on December 11: eurovision.md.
