Teleradio-Moldova and two other media outlets sign partnerships for dual education in journalism

Teleradio-Moldova (TRM), along with two other media institutions, will support the State University of Moldova in implementing a dual education program in Journalism and Media Processes. Three collaboration agreements were signed to formalize this initiative. TRM's management emphasizes that the success of an institution is greatly influenced by its connection to the academic community and the education of young people.

"We need trained professionals. Recently, we have observed with satisfaction that the quality of applicants for the positions we advertise has improved. This is beneficial for public television and the entire audiovisual sector. We believe that this is just the beginning of a continued effort that will yield results in a short period. Ultimately, we are working towards a common good for our society," emphasized Vlad Țurcanu, the general director of Teleradio-Moldova.
"Any institution that aspires to be viable must envision its future while maintaining a close relationship with the academic environment, which nurtures our future talent. As demonstrated today by the university, society will reflect this in the future. The engagement of our Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences in broadcasting on public television will be evident," noted Andrei Zapșa, deputy general director for television at TRM.
The dual education model reduces theoretical instruction while increasing practical instruction at industry institutions. This approach allows students to combine theoretical training with hands-on work experience in the editorial offices of Teleradio-Moldova, TVR Moldova, and Ziarul de Gardă.
"Recently, higher education in the Republic of Moldova has faced numerous challenges and changes. We are making efforts to align our programs with the labor market. Teleradio-Moldova has consistently supported the university, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their assistance not only to us as a university but also to the entire educational system and the Republic of Moldova," stated Igor Șarov, rector of USM.
"We are acutely aware of the human resources crisis facing media institutions in the Republic of Moldova. Today’s event illustrates our attempt to address this issue by involving young, future professionals who are still students but will work alongside experienced specialists within these media outlets," mentioned Victoria Bulicanu, dean of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences at USM.
This year, the dual education program will include ten students from the Journalism and Media Processes specialisation.
