Russia has suspended oil deliveries through the section of the Drujba pipeline to Poland
The supply of Russian oil through the section of the Drujba pipeline to Poland has been stopped, a representative of the Polish oil refining company PKN Orlen announced on Saturday, reports Reuters, quoted by Agerpres.
"We manage to secure our supply. Russia has stopped deliveries to Poland, a situation for which we are prepared. Only 10% of the oil came from Russia, and we will replace it with oil from other sources," said Daniel Obajtek, executive director of PKN Orlen. The company says it can supply its refineries with oil imported by sea, and gasoline and diesel supplies will not be affected. The Drujba pipeline starts in Russia and branches in Belarus into two other pipelines, one to Poland and the other to Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Deliveries of Russian oil through the Drujba pipeline are exempt from the embargo the EU imposed on Russia after the outbreak of the war against Ukraine, as the landlocked central European states have limited options for supplying oil by sea.
