Crisis Cell coordinates alternative evacuation routes for Moldovan citizens across UAE, Qatar, and Israel
The Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) is actively coordinating the safety of citizens across the Middle East as of Tuesday, March 3, 2026. While no casualties have been reported, officials are currently strategizing alternative departure corridors to circumvent regional airspace closures.

The highest volume of assistance requests comes from the United Arab Emirates, where 96 Moldovan nationals have sought support. The diplomatic mission in Abu Dhabi has processed over 100 emergency inquiries, focusing on accommodation subsidies and transit facilitation for those stranded by flight cancellations.
In Qatar, eight individual evacuation requests are currently under review. Authorities are evaluating land routes through Saudi Arabia—contingent on visa protocols—and potential air corridors via Dubai should regional airspace reopen.
Developments in Israel and global transit
In Israel, the evacuation landscape has stabilized. Of the 17 citizens who initially requested exit, 15 have chosen to remain in place. Two dual Moldovan-Romanian citizens are currently departing via a coordinated bus route to Taba, Egypt, facilitated by the Romanian Embassy.
The MFA also confirmed that Moldovans in tourism hubs, including the Maldives, Tanzania, and Sri Lanka, are receiving consular guidance. These individuals face significant travel disruptions due to ripple effects in global aviation schedules.
Safety directives and monitoring
The central Crisis Cell remains in permanent session to monitor the "complex" security environment. Citizens in the affected regions are urged to strictly follow local authority instructions and maintain constant contact with the nearest diplomatic mission.
