The Republic of Moldova will join the EU for Health Program

The Government approved, at the proposal of the Ministry of Health, the draft law for the ratification of the Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union regarding the country's association with the "EU for Health" program, signed in Brussels on February 7, reads a Government release .

Joining this program will allow the Republic of Moldova to participate in all the launched project contests, which will contribute to strengthening the capacities of the health system, by improving its resilience and the efficiency of resources, including for increasing the level of preparedness for emergency situations. This program will also improve the capacity to prevent diseases, especially cancer, strengthen the healthcare workforce, promote digital transformation and facilitate access to medicines and medical devices. The program budget for the period 2021-2027, amounting to 5.3 billion euros, is intended for health entities and non-governmental organizations in EU countries or third countries associated with the program. The Republic of Moldova will have access to financing on an equal footing with EU member states.
