Film Center head wins seat on Teleradio-Moldova council

The Audiovisual Council (CA) has appointed Valentina Iusuphodjaev to the Supervisory Board of Teleradio-Moldova (TRM), the country's national public broadcaster.

Iusuphodjaev, currently the director of the National Film Center, won the seat following a public competition held on Friday, March 27. She secured the highest score among four candidates, according to an official statement.
Merit-based selection
The evaluation process assessed candidates on their expertise in national and European media law. The CA also reviewed their institutional development plans and commitment to good governance principles.
Final results showed Iusuphodjaev leading with 8.47 points. Other candidates included Dorin Scobioală (6.92), Tatiana Fișer (5.61), and Igor Bolboceanu (5.04).
Strategic oversight
The Supervisory Board is a nine-member body responsible for monitoring the public broadcaster’s performance. Its members serve six-year terms and ensure political pluralism and editorial independence.
The board's mandate includes approving TRM's budget, internal regulations, and strategic financial plans. It also nominates the general director for parliamentary approval and oversees the executive management's performance.
Public sessions of the council serve as the primary mechanism for strategic control of Moldova's state-funded media services.
