Minister of Energy reveals when ministerial team will be appointed
The Ministry of Energy's ministerial team is to be formed at tomorrow's Cabinet meeting. The announcement was made by Energy Minister Victor Parlicov during a broadcast on public television. The new ministry's priorities include increasing energy security, digitising the sector and reducing Moldova's energy vulnerability.
The energy ministry will be responsible for seven areas: energy security, energy efficiency, renewable energy, electricity, heat and promotion of high-efficiency cogeneration, natural gas and oil products, digitisation and energy transition.
Energy Minister Victor Parlicov said the new ministerial team will be formed as soon as possible.
"We don't have a ministry yet. As far as I understand, it will be created at the next government meeting, and within a week the ministerial team will be formed and we will be able to start the process of hiring and transferring those employees, who are still working at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development," Victor Parlicov said.
The ministry is to have three secretaries of state and a secretary-general of the ministry, according to a draft law to be approved by the government. The Energy Ministry will be made up of a team of 60 people, 17 of whom will be transferred from the departments of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development.
